American Partners offers a basic checking account with an available Free Visa Debit Card that offers:

  • Unlimited Free transactions at American Partners ATMs

    For the member who desires a basic checking account without the extras. This checking account satisfies the needs of the "routine check writer".

    Youth Checking

    This program gives young adult members the benefits they desire and need as well as ATM/debit card access.

    A Youth Checking Account offers the following perks:

    • Free Checking
    • Unlimited ATM Transactions at American Partners ATMs
    • Overdraft Protection from Savings

    Member Requirements:

    Must be between the ages of 12 and 18 years old.
    Parent or guardian signature required if under 18 years
    old.

     

  • Understand how your Debit Card works

    Once you receive your DEBIT Card, you will create your own PIN (personal identification number) enabling you to access any ATM on the STAR/PLUS/CO-OP Network/MEMBERS ACCESS system. Your card can also be used as VISA Credit, allowing you the convenience of a credit card transaction with any merchant accepting VISA Cards.

    In addition to receiving your card, you can apply for Overdraft Protection – a line of credit to protect you from overdrawing your account. (Application Approval Required).

    VISA Transaction: A check card transaction. Used mostly at merchant locations, a swipe (by you or a merchant), telephone, or internet transaction (This transaction may place a hold up to 3 days on your available balance)

    ATM Transaction: A withdrawal made by you at an ATM or at a merchant location in which you have entered your PIN number ***Your money is deducted immediately!!

    P.I.N.: Personal Identification Number

    Account Balance: Actual Balance in your account

    Available Balance: Your Account Balance less any holds or authorizations

    Transaction Date: Actual date the transaction was posted to your account

    Business Day: A calendar day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or Federal Holidays

    System Date: Actual business day
