2025 Annual Meeting

All American Partners FCU members are invited to attend the 2025 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 6:00 PM. The meeting is a hybrid of in-person and via Zoom. Attendees will receive information on the credit union's performance and activities over the past year. American Partners FCU has three board members up for re-election this year: Bryant Cohen, Barbara Childress and Dr. Mirta Martin.

Board Members Up for Re-Election – 2025 Annual Meeting

​Barbara Childress

Barbara has served APFCU as a dedicated volunteer since 1980. She served as a member of the Supervisory Committee for 19 years, holding the position of Chairman for eight years. She was appointed to the Board of Directors in 1999. Barbara worked for the American Tobacco Company for a number of years and is currently retired.
 

Bryant Cohen

Since 2018, Bryant has been an instrumental Control Rooms Operator at Duke Energy, where he ensures the seamless operation of critical infrastructure. Bryant has been a devoted member of the American Partners Federal Credit Union since 1991. Through his long-standing association, he has exhibited unwavering commitment to the financial well-being of the community, promoting the Union's core values of trust and cooperation.
 

Bryant also serves as a dedicated board member of the Last Dons Non-Profit, where he actively contributes to uplifting the lives of those in need. As a Board Member of APFCU he is looking forward to helping shape the future of the Union and further empower its members to achieve financial success and prosperity.
 

Dr. Mirta Martin

Mirta was appointed president of Ferrum College, in December, 2022. Ferrum College is a private, liberal arts institution offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs, located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Ferrum, Virginia.
 

Dr. Martin a holds a baccalaureate in psychology and political science from Duke University; a Master of Business Administration from the University of Richmond; and a doctorate with an emphasis in strategic management and leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.
 

Martin's career involves work in both the public and private sectors. As a senior banking executive, Dr. Martin was recognized as a highly effective and innovative practitioner, positioning companies for growth and profitability. Her higher education experience is equally diverse and successful. She has expertise in Strategic Planning, Marketing and Brand Identity, Crisis Management, Financial, Budgeting and Risk Mitigation, Stakeholder Relationship Management and Program Innovation and Funding.
