About Us

"The Mission of American Partners Federal Credit Union is to provide a member owned, financially sound, primary financial institution to its members while remaining committed to preserving quality service with an unsurpassed personal touch."

American Partners Federal Credit Union was originated in 1975 to serve employees of the American Tobacco Company.  In 1995, a merger occurred to include Sears Piedmont Employees FCU, resulting in a full service financial institution.

APFCU offers a wide variety of products and services to meet the needs of all of our Members, no matter what their financial situation.  The credit union philosophy of "People Helping People" is not just a statement - it is our way of life!

When you become a Member of APFCU, you too will experience the "unique difference" between credit unions and other financial institutions.  Our Members enjoy many benefits, from higher rates on savings accounts to lower rates on loans.  We also offer special services such as Financial Counseling and provide specialized products such as our Christmas Club Accounts.

Although we have been fortunate to see our Membership grow over the years, we have never forgotten how we came to be or why we are here.  Our sole purpose is to serve our Members and their families by offering only the Best in quality service.

American Partners FCU has been recognized for many great achievements over the years.  At the National Association of Federal Credit Unions Convention, held in Orlando, Florida in July of 2001, our President/CEO, Dorinda Edwards, was awarded the 2001 Professional of the Year award by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions. In 2005, APFCU was awarded Federal Credit Union of the Year at the NAFCU Convention in Las Vegas, NV.  In addition to these awards, American Partners FCU has also been awarded  by the State of North Carolina, the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award, the Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action and the Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award .  The Dora Maxwell Award honors credit unions for their charitable works in their communities and the Louise Herring recognizes credit unions for their exceptional efforts to include credit union philosophy in their daily operations and member service. The Desjardins awards those credit unions that have displayed outstanding efforts to increase youth financial literacy. Lastly, on September 10, 2008, APFCU opened the first High School Student-Run Credit Union in NC at Reidsville High School. This branch has two paid student employees that work three days a week during school lunch hours.

We are proud of our heritage and excited about our future. Our Select Employer Groups (SEG's) are all unique and special, each one an important part of our credit union family.
